At Burrowed, we design and manufacture high-quality prefabricated underground bunker structures, built and installed across the UK. Our underground structures were originally developed for unique uses such as “hobbit-style” holiday accommodation, school libraries, private garden rooms, and residential spaces. However, due to growing global uncertainty and increased demand for secure underground protection, we have expanded our range to include dedicated bunker systems.

After extensive research and development, we now offer a carefully engineered range of DIY bunker kits and fully installed underground bunkers, allowing customers to choose the level of involvement that suits them best.

    • DIY Kit Form: All interior components are supplied in kit form inside the bunker ready for self-build using our detailed guides and support.

    • Professional Fit-Out: Our experienced team can install and complete the full bunker interior and systems for you.

Every bunker structure includes the core safety elements such as airtight blast-rated doors, emergency escape hatches and entrance sections, ensuring a secure underground environment designed for long-term protection.

WHY OUR STRUCTURES

Many bunker designs originate from the United States where steel culvert pipes are commonly used. However, these systems are often unsuitable for typical UK soil conditions, which can lead to corrosion and long-term durability issues.

At Burrowed we use large diameter twin-wall HDPE (high-density polyethylene) structural pipe, manufactured using advanced engineering processes to create an underground structure that is:

• Extremely strong with superior load capacity
• Completely resistant to corrosion and chemical attack
• Impervious to groundwater and moisture
• Lightweight yet structurally engineered for burial
• Designed for a 125-year structural lifespan
